Filming 19th November
We first got Rachel in character by putting the pyjamas used back on and a dressing gown over the top. I decided to put the dressing gown on her to show that she was comfortable at home and later in the trailer it is off to insinuate a struggle with the kidnappers. The kidnappers were kept in black to show that they were bad and so they could be lurking in the shadows so Alice doesn't see them.
We only filmed inside the house on this day, using the front room and hallway. We started by filming Alice on her own, watching tv. We used popcorn as a prop to show that she was a typical girl watching tele and comfortable in her home setting. She also has her phone by her to show that it is a modern setting and because she gets a call from her Mum. In the conversation to her Mum she hears that she is going to be home alone that night and says she will be fine. This is to show that there will be no one else in the house which is typical of a horror film because the victim is often alone.
I used lots of different shots including high angle, mid shot, zoom and close up to show Alice laying on the sofa watching the tele. I then introduced one of the kidnappers and showed them looking in at Alice from outside the window. Whenever the kidnappers are shown they are looking down so you can't see their face and are in all black. This adds a sense of mystery to them and allows the audience to have the same view as Alice.

Filming October 10th
We filmed at our first location on October 10th to get
the end scenes where Alice, the girl who gets kidnapped, goes mad. To show that
she had been kidnapped earlier on in the film I ripped her pyjama top to
indicate that she struggled and didn’t want to go with the men. The brutality
of the kidnap is portrayed by the blood on her face and clothes. I smudged her
eye make up to show she had been crying and the black coming down her face also
looks quite sinister when she becomes psychotic.
We first shot Alice being held down in the back of the car by one
of the men. She had duct tape on her mouth to show that she is being restrained
and doesn’t want to be there. We made sure to get shots of the road and other
cars to show that they are in still in a public place and driving to their
destination. The men are wearing black in the scene to show that they are bad
and scary. We then filmed the outside of the car coming down March Road
(B1101), which is a secluded and dark road. The isolation is a feature of a horror
trailer because it shows that no one is there to help the victim.
We then filmed Alice in Gaul Road Park turning psychotic because
of the brutality of her kidnap. She wants to seek revenge and is shown
staggering up to the camera holding the rope that she was tied up with. She
screams at the camera to show that she has gone mad and shifts the fear onto
her character.
Here are some of the pictures that we took on the day of filming.
